From the Alleys of Naples to Musical Empires, 'Mixed by Erry' Chronicles the Frattasio Brothers' Irreverent Rise to Fame.

From the Alleys of Naples to the Stages of Giants: The Story of 'Mixed by Erry'!

Starting with Enrico, nicknamed Erry, an aspiring DJ with more dreams than practical sense, who decides to turn his passion for music into a successful business—but not in the way you'd expect. With the help of his brothers, Peppe and Angelo, he transforms an attic full of dust and old records into a clandestine factory for pirated cassettes.

Things don't go as planned. The Frattasio brothers find themselves dealing with local gangsters who have the humor of a prison door and the flexibility of reinforced concrete. The brothers, with a brilliance all their own, respond to threats with heavy jokes, scams, and a bravado that would make the most colorful characters envious.

The situation gets more complicated when Captain Ricciardi, a policeman with a soft spot for impossible cases and flashy shirts, comes on the scene. Ricciardi is as determined to catch the Frattasios as Erry is determined to evade him, sparking a series of chases that seem straight out of a comedy of errors.

"Mixed by Erry" turns into a wild ride through Naples, between unlikely hideouts, Vespa chases, and smuggled cassettes hidden in increasingly bizarre places. Meanwhile, the brothers reflect on their bonds, their dreams, and how ridiculous it is to try to sell Toto Cutugno cassettes as if they were the next big musical novelty.

With a narrative that leaps between the absurd and the touching, the film makes irony and satire its best weapons, perfectly in the style of the narrative, transforming the Frattasio's struggle into an adventure that is as much a tribute to their cunning as a reflection on life's oddities.

More than a film: an experience of pure fun and nostalgia!

"Mixed by Erry" unfolds like an irreverent hymn to the past, where nostalgia mixes with humor so tightly that each scene blurs between serious and facetious. Director Sydney Sibilia skillfully navigates this duality, playing with a vibrant aesthetic that brings the '80s back to life with a verve that is almost tangible.

The performances of the protagonists are the real heartbeat of the film, with Luigi D'Oriano dominating the scene as Erry. His ability to balance drama and comedy is remarkable, making the character not only believable but also incredibly charming. The dynamics between the brothers, full of affection but also friction, are portrayed with a chemistry that makes their exchanges as fun as they are emotional.

The film not only celebrates the pop culture of the '80s but also comments on the music industry of the time with a sharp social critique, infused with humor that never loses its bite. The jokes are sharp, and the plot develops with a series of twists that keep attention high, making "Mixed by Erry" a cinematic experience that stands out for its lively spirit and intelligent narration.

"Mixed by Erry" offers moments of brilliant comedy intertwined with deeper reflections on what it means to pursue one's dreams against all odds. The film's narrative pushes the viewer to reflect on the morality of desperate actions in desperate times, presenting the Frattasios not just as shrewd entrepreneurs, but also as products of an era of cultural and technological change.

Through the innovative use of flashbacks and a soundtrack that is a tribute to the '80s classics, the film manages to create a strong sense of place and time. Each song, each scene, each dialogue is interwoven with an evident love for the era it represents, making "Mixed by Erry" a true dive into nostalgia for those who lived through that period.

In conclusion, "Mixed by Erry" is not just a film to watch, but an experience to live. With a narrative that is as exuberant as it is intelligent, the film demonstrates that it is possible to entertain while maintaining a critical gaze on complex themes. It is an ode to dreamers, rebels, and all those who believe that music can change the world, even if only for the duration of a pirated cassette.

Why I recommend it

I recommend it because 'Mixed by Erry' is not just fun, it's a life lesson hidden between the lines of hilarious jokes and moments of pure emotion.

Why I don't recommend it

I do not recommend it because if you are looking for a film that strictly follows reality without deviating into the comical or absurd, this might not be your genre.
